The advantage or rewriting the application from scratch gave us the possibility to review what was working on our version for joomla 1.0 and improve it:
Add the missing features, modify the parts which were not optimized

Technical features

Our yachting portal application was written from scratch in order to use the new architecture, web standards of joomla 1.5

Our main goals were to develop an application respecting the joomla 1.5 MVC architecture.
Furthermore, we added a key database architecture which was missing in joomla 1.5

The result is an extensible application giving plenty of room for growth.

The main key points of our new components are:

- 100% joomla 1.5. native
- 100% MVC architecture
- 100% Php5 OOP (will not run on php4)
- Integrated data dictionnary to easily extend the component.
- Introduction of web services to generate feeds for thrid party listing sites
- Dynamic templates and layout management

The main goal while developing our applications is to srtat from a vertical need and provide a commerical grade solution. It means that we spend a very long time
looking at the data needed and used by this vertical market. The result is an application with common data fields used in the industry.

It means that our customers are not buying a generic application they hae to twist around for their needs. All fields needed for a particular industry are there.

Our new advanced layout and themes management linked to our new data dictionnary allows the site administrator to:
- Modify all fields labels
- Define the fields and order appearing in the different tabs
- Define a different template for the different types of listings (sailboat, powerboat, equipment..)
directly from the administration area without editing any source code.


Our applications come preloaded with over 25 validation tables: boat manufacturers, engine manufacturers, countries.... providing a turnkey solution.
Furthermore this architecture brings a very high data integrity feature critical to provide accurate search results.

Technical Requirements

All our applications are created for professional environment. From the start, we decided to build on the new joomla 1.5 MVC architecture
but as well add several specific constraints to allow for improvement in performance and features not possible on a php 4 platform.

mysql 5.0.x or above
xml extensions compiled (web services: SOAP or XMLRPC)
ftp enabled in joomla
web services enabled in joomla
ioncube loaders

** our applications will not run in legacy mode and need absolutely php5.2.x or above.



Recommended: dedicated server or VPS (virtual private server) with 2 processors and 4go of ram or above.

If you do not have yet a hosting company, we propose a hosted solution.

We use dedicated servers with VPS virtuozzo configuration and cPanel.

We manage the installation, support, backups and all technical aspects while you concentrate on the promotion and marketing of your listings.
